"I had a very disappointing and costly experience with Larson Financial. I contacted them regarding a serious IRS issue from 2019, where the IRS incorrectly showed $0 federal withholding, despite my employer confirming that $37,000 was withheld. The sales representative assured me that Larson Financial had “backdoor” IRS phone numbers and special access that individuals do not have, and that they would be able to resolve my case. I paid $4,000 and was assigned to Maria. I promptly sent her everything requested—my tax returns, IRS transcripts, employer documentation, and prior communications with the IRS. Just days later, she emailed asking for the same information again, clearly indicating she had not reviewed my materials. When I raised concerns about organization and professionalism, I was offered reassignment, but chose to stay with her since she was already “working” my case. For weeks, I was told that she had contacted the IRS and was waiting for responses—yet no progress was ever made. At no point did I see evidence of the promised special access or effectiveness. Months later, Maria told me I needed to resubmit my 2019 return, claiming my original accountant made an error. There was no error visible on the return, but I complied anyway and was required to pay an additional $850 to another Larson Financial accountant to amend the return. When I later asked about the status of my overpayment and the sudden $57,000 IRS balance, Maria blamed my accountant and told me it was “my fault.” Her response was defensive, dismissive, and highly unprofessional. Eventually, I received a letter stating my time to resolve the issue had expired and that I would need to pay $250 per month just for Larson Financial to continue “monitoring” my case. I declined. I ultimately resolved the issue on my own by simply calling the IRS fraud department—something Larson Financial never suggested or accomplished. In total, I wasted over $5,000, months of time, and endured unnecessary stress. Based on my experience, this company is disorganized, ineffective, and lacking in professionalism, empathy, and accountability. I would never recommend Larson Financial to anyone dealing with a serious tax matter."
